PROPOSAL

GUIDELINES

The only requirement to submit a proposal to the DAO is that you hold the minimum of Gnars to be eligible to submit, that number is currently 12. Though there are no absolute requirements to submit proposals other than holding this number of Gnars, there are steps that the community will expect you to follow in order for them to feel comfortable supporting your proposal. So if you want to increase the number of 'For' votes when it comes time, follow these steps!

The first thing you should do is be sure to introduce yourself and interact with the community. If the community doesn't know you and hasn't had a chance to interact with you, then you are less likely to have their support when it comes time to vote. Take the time to join the community call, Gnars Jam Session, or just hang out in the auctions channel every day. The more familiar you are, the better.

Once you've been involved with the community and feel comfortable enough to share your idea, create a post in the Proposals forum within the Discord server. Include as much information about yourself and your proposal as possible. Utilize the HackMD template provided below and be sure to include links to your previous work, social medias, etc. Engage with the community as they review your proposal and provide feedback, making sure to answer all questions fully and revise your proposal as needed.

Now that you've shared your proposal, received feedback, and made any necessary revisions - it's time to go on chain! Head over to Snapshot and select 'New Proposal' from the sidebar on the left hand side, which should look like the screenshot below. You'll then be presented with input fields where you can enter the title of your proposal, the description, transaction data, and a link to external discussion.

Within your proposal there are additional items that will help strengthen your proposal in the eyes of the DAO. Highlighting previous gnarly content, especially if it's nounish too, will definitely give you a leg up. We also like to see clear deliverables and timelines, this helps us know exactly what we are getting. While writing your proposal, you may find it helpful to review previous proposals that passed or failed and what they included in their proposal, then use the information to improve your own proposal. You can find plenty of information regarding past proposals on gnars.network.
